Bryce Bike Park is Open and Running Better Than Ever!

Bryce is my new favorite place to ride! They have a little bit of everything. From their tech trail Dark & Stormy to their MASSIVE jump line “Hooch”. The park is built for progression. Weather you just starting out on a hard trail or you’re a pro you’ll have a blast. Huge thanks to Ernest from the Crofton bike doctor for the opportunity to be a brand ambassador! These trails are super fun in the rain as long as it’s not too wet. We had a solid day of thunderstorms the day before but these trails are rocky enough they don’t get too sloppy, just a puddle here and there. The Sickest Trails in PA! (Riding Northern Michaux)

This ride was incredible. As usual the GoPro doesn’t give an accurate idea of how steep these trails are. If you're ever in the area, as long as you're cool with a little exposure and some chunky tech. Bong is a must ride trail. As of 4/15/24 Fireline is a little leafy but still riding pretty well. This was such a fun ride! They really do have a little bit of everything here. While Rothrock primarily focuses on Tech, they have a couple of sick flow trails too! Kettle and Lawnberger are super fun but there are also some sick machine built flow trails near Colyer lake on the opposite side of Tussey mountain. we'll be back this summer to explore more of this awesome trail system. Try medow wood trails in mason neck
Thanks, I’ll look into it 🤙
Sweet video. I suggest chicken peter and beautiful trail. Im pretty sure there is a tree blight around some of that area. Huge swaths of dead trees. Sad but still a great set of trails.
Haha! That’s funny you say that. I’m uploading a video from coppers gap right now! We rode it last week and both those trails were awesome!
Thunderstruck is legit dangerous.
Looks like you guys have some pretty sweet trails up there too! That rocky one looked awesome!
There’s definitely some sick stuff up here. That’s one with all the rocks was actually pretty gnarly. Lots of fun though!
Transition squad! I love my Scout! I really want to upgrade to a Patrol or Spire soon!
Awesome! I’ve been looking into the Spire too. I just need something that’s not too heavy but still fast on the descents.
Who is the guy in blue? Looks fast.
That would be you, dad…. 👨
Good to see you back on the bike Luke. Nice job ripping through Raystown. I'm glad you got your buddy in front, it gives a better perspective on speed. Hydro is one of my favorites too.
Thanks! Hydro is awesome. Having someone in front definitely makes it look faster. Seeing you and Zané commenting is awesome. You guys are the two people/channels that inspired me to start making my own videos. Glad you’re enjoying them! 🤙
That climb up from the bridge at Sidewinder is tricky as anything when wet.
It’s definitely tough 🤣
I gotta start coming out here when it's not winter, every time I'm out here it's just leaf surfing😂💀 looks great!
It’s incredible! The lack of leaves makes it so fast and flowy. 100% worth another visit! 🤘
Tis the best
Downhill 1st !
Nice ride
Nice riding! Maybe I'll see you at a race this summer! Theres a super fun Enduro race in Pisgah this year (Pisgah Enduro) Dig the video and channel! Subscribed! Quick question: I noticed you only recently started posting videos about 3 months ago. How did you grow your subscribers so quickly?! I'm only a little over a month into my channel so been doing a lot of research on growth!
Thanks! I’d love to get down to Pisgah some time soon. As far as channel growth goes, I cheated a tiny bit. When I was super little my mom used this channel for posting “make up tutorials”. She ended up giving up on UA-cam after a year or so. When I decided I wanted to start a channel, she let me use hers. Already having the subscribers pushed my Mtb videos out to more people. I’ve gained around 2.1K since then.
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke hell yeah. That’s an awesome starting bonus right there haha!
Great video brochacho. Your editing has gotten great.
True or false? No one has written more memorable guitar riffs/melodies than John Frusciante.
Uhhhh 😅
Yooo ain't no way! @2:06 the kid on the left with the Bronson is my friend Logen!
Awesome! 🤘
I saw the pit there
Sick 😅
Thanks!
Very cool Vid, just the right amount of action! Love it!
Thanks!
Would you recommend going to Bryce over Snowshoe? They are both the same driving distance for me.
I haven’t been to snowshoe yet. Snowshoe is defiantly bigger and has more trails from what I’ve seen. Take it with a grain of salt but I think Bryce is probably better for flow and Snowshoe is better for tech. You can’t go wrong with Bryce though.
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke Much appreciated 🤙
snowhsoe is 10x bettter go to bryce too tho its fun
Cool, I’ll have to get it there some time
Different types of riding. Bryce is fast and flows Snowshoe is a bigger park. Fast , chunky. Also a blast. Do both for sure !
Sick riding! Is that the Transition Spur 120 front and back? Interested in your thoughts on a short travel bike at a bike park! You definitely did well with the jumps, but how did the bike feel - did you ever bottom out your suspension?
Thanks! As far as the Spur goes it honestly felt great. Bryce is pretty smooth as far as bike parks go and that bike descends like a beast. I don’t know how to describe it but it just feels like it wants to go fast. I only bottomed out once on the Pickleback step up but besides that it was amazing.
Ok, nice! That makes sense - I haven’t been to Bryce yet (planning to go this summer), but the trails look pretty smooth - except for those few techy sections). Yea, I’ve heard really good reviews on the Spur and how fast and nimble it handles. I was curious if the bike felt stable and planted with all the jumps and descents and if there was any hand and arm fatigue. I have the Trek Top Fuel 9.8, but I’d have to build up my skills on jumps to take it to a bike park - I might case a bit too much, lol. It is a lot more fun and easier to jump than my mid travel bike - the Polygon Siskiu T7, but the T7 feels a lot more forgiving (especially with the Pike fork) since I’m still working on jumps. Really enjoy watching your riding and appreciate you noting the trail names or routes. Ive listed a couple of trails I want to check out from watching your videos.
It felt great in the air. The tables at Bryce are built super well. It’s incredible how smooth they are and how easy they are to clear. I’m bad at jumping and was still able to ride Brew Thru without getting bucked or casing anything. I’ve ridden some chunky trails and haven’t gotten any fatigue yet. I did case a couple of the bigger jumps on other trails but didn’t bottom out (besides the step up). As long as you add a little more air than usual you’ll probably be good. I’m glad the trail names help.👍 there’s so many trails out there to explore.
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke Awesome, and thanks for the tip on adding more air for bigger jumps.
No problem!
Sick edit! Love this park and can't wait to go this year! also how is ur camera so clear?
Thanks! As far as my camera goes I use a GoPro Hero 12. I can give you my settings if you’d like them. 🤙
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke yea I'd love ur settings. i have a gopro 11
The first thing to make it look nice and clear is to go into the app and make sure you have controls on "Pro". Bit rate on "High" Bit depth on "10-bit" and Anti-flicker set to "60Hz". Heres the preset settings. Profile- Standard Aspect Ratio- 16:9 Resolution- 5.3K Frames Per Second- 30 Lens- HyperView HyperSmooth- Auto Boost Duration- No Limit Scheduled Capture- Off Timer- Off -----Under ProTune------ Shutter- Auto EV Comp- 0.0 works great 90% of the time on sunny days when you’re mostly in the trees. If you’re somewhere with lots of sun and no trees (like the desert) I would put it to -0.5 and if it's super dark I would put it to +0.5 ISO Min- Auto ISO Max- Auto White Balance- 5000K for outdoors and 2800K for indoors. Sharpness- Medium Color- Vibrant RAW Audio- Off Wind- Off (I use a foam cover to block wind noise) I edit all my stuff in I-Movie. To make the footage more vibrant I just drag the color slider around until ill it looks good. I export it in 4K 30 using whatever the highest quality option is. Hopefully that helps. 👍
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke thanks a lot man!
@mtbextreme01 No problem!
Great video.
Nice bro I can’t wait to get back out there this season
Thanks, Me too!
Great cut - never been to that trail system but you make it look like a lot of fun!
Thanks! It’s a pretty cool place. Definitely worth a visit 🤙
great video ... i need to hit these trail .. ive been saying this for years but this season ill get out there .
Definitely should! you won’t be disappointed. There’s so many trails to explore out there!
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke do u saying I could get lost 😂😂😂
Haha! Defiantly possible🤣
The plants all just spawned in, I just rode there yesterday
I know, right? I rode at bacon yesterday. It was toasty .
This looks like a decent trail to get a lot of miles in... seemingly never ending. And only 50 mins from my house! Love finding new places. Thanks!
No problem! It’s a pretty underrated place. Have fun!
We love riding the Shed when we get the chance. Catovid is one of the best DH trails in the region!
Catovid is so good, I rode it a couple of weeks ago but my camera died 🤣.
Some of the best trails in the region! Great edit!
Thanks!🤙 I actually watched a bunch of your videos to figure out where Bong and some of those other trails are since they’re not on Trailforks anymore. I’m looking forward to exploring more out there!
This made me wanna ride!
There’s no flow in the watershed! It’s all janky ricks!
Next time you’re there ride 3 Saws, It’s super flowey!🤙
@@EastCoastMtb_Luke flat turns does not equal flow! lol! Place is a joke! Just my opinion
🤨
@@worldstallestmidget Three Saws is a climbing trail, thus no berms. Boundary Line then... Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm not sure how you can say 'the place is a joke,' simply because its not your cup of tea. Its literally my favorite spot in VA.
@@equiwell there’s your first mistake! It’s not in VA!
Looks like some good trail! Nice job!
Thanks, it was a blast 🤙
The new GoPro looks good.
Tip: Just do it
For real👌
If the jump scares you just go and your body will react and do what it needs to do if it’s actually really big or you think it’s to big DO NOT DO IT and lastly take your time mtb is not easy take it from me I’m just now taking it easy and I’m seeing more progress then push you can’t ride your bike if you hurt yourself all the time so TAKE IT SLOW AND TRUST YOUR GUT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WEAR A HELMET RIDE HARD HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE🤙🏻🙏
@bikeguycody Super great advice, I defiantly learned my lesson on getting hurt. Last spring, I broke some ribs and ruptured my spleen, not fun. I’m pretty good at everything else and have good handling skills so I’m sure jumping will come with time. Ride safe 🤙
Sorry about all the random Instagram thingy’s, I’m too lazy to figure out how to get rid of them😂
